While the idea is a good one, the UI deviates from Apple standards and more importantly OCR is not very good. I scanned magazine articles with black text on white background. The OCR always tried to create odd shaped selections changing normal paragraphs into columns or simply getting garbage as the OCR text. It would take as long to just retype the articles as it would to correct the errors in OCR.

Optional language packs are not being downloaded and not working. Scanned images can only be exported in PDF not JPEG. Pretty poor for the high price.

I just bought this app for my 11year old son who is dyslexic. So far, I absolutely love what I see. I would give it 5 stars if changing voices was more user friendly.

This is useless. All I want this thing to do is to capture a paragraph in a book and turn it into text that I can copy and paste into Evernote. But all I get is a bunch of nonsense. Don’t waste your money on this app.

i am sorry but this software is very bad. it does not worth totally.

I wanted an app that would let me snap a picture of a letter or other piece of mail and quickly read it aloud for me. This app does that.I havent explored all the other functions, but this app amazingly lets me read my mail on my own. I have some other OCR apps, but Prizmo is the best.

5+ stars for this app which does what so many of you take for granted — it reads AND understands printed text! Oh stop griping about what it doesnt do, or doesnt do well, and give them 5 stars

I have tried a number of OCR apps over the years. This one is at the top for accuracy. I photographed a six page scientific paper with my iPhone and reviewed it on the iPad. The results were excellent, about one error per page.

I have dyslexia which makes read anything hard. I have tried to find an app that will scan in a page and read it back to you. This app was the best a found. This app is great for books and magazines. Its not so good for restaurant menus. This app really only works on normal pages like what you find in a book. The reason I have this app 4 stars is because that app is expensive and only works for normal pages like in a book.

Was using the Mac version before I discovered they had an iPhone app that worked just as good.

The app works very well most of the time and the OCR accuracy is high. The problem of repeated crashes when adding pages to a file seems to have been fixed. Customer support is not as good as Smile Software and I would be happy to pay more for the software to get it. I dont use the read text aloud feature often, but it does work very well. I use this app all the time for research.

App OCR scans have very high error rate; card scan is worse.

Works great! I have supported since beginning and this version is the best yet. Keep up the great work!

This application is the best simply because it allows the user to read anything people wish vision pigments people that have trouble this is the best investment

I have been using it for OCR and is excellent. Editing is easy. Image improvement works fine. I fully recommend it.

I use OCR for English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese languages mainly. I was really glad to see how well this worked for English, but Im very disappointed that it doesnt have OCR for Asian languages. Please add them in future versions! Paid half price for this on Black Friday sale, so its not too bad, but I really need Asian language recognition please.

I love this app so much it is perfect for having books that are not available as e-textbooks read to me for my college classes! Thank you so much for this convenience!

I love it so much, I screenshot my iPhone and it takes the text from the image and makes it into its own piece of text that I can use to study. Screenshot ring Powerpoints and such. Its just amazing, love it!

When traveling for business, I scan my receipts as soon as I get them on this app. They are all in one place and I print them out at the end of the month. Such a time saver!
