Prizmo - Pro Scanner App Reviews

Before the update, it used to work fine. However, after the update, it crashes all the time. Its not worth buying until fix this issue. Have this point I wish I could have my money back.

I have never been able to get this app to work correctly. It scans the picture then produces a bunch of gobbledygook you cant read. I dont know what I am doing wrong. From the other reviews they love this app. For me it have never worked once!!! Waste of money. Wish I could figure how why it doesnt work for me.

I am very impressed! The program doesnt do well with accented characters like: é, è, ô, î ç, etc. (otherwise Id rate it at 5 stars)

Scanning is o.k. but many apps can do that. I bought this to convert document images to text I could edit. Accuracy is 85-90% at best. Does a poor job of recognizing characters and numbers. Cant read numbers! Are you kidding me? Interface is more confusing than it should be.

UPDATE: I tried quite a few apps, and this one goes farther in document processing with image editing tools and text recognition, multipage and PDF export. Although I don’t use text to speech capability, there are lots of ways of using it too. Oh, and it also scans business cards, neat! => not cheap but its good, recommended!!

Completely useless because it crashes every single time when doing OCR. I just wasted $2.99.

The algorithm used in this app does not work when you have a black background with white text (or other color). Also it gets confused when scanning code in white background for the special characters ({ } [ ] < >). Maybe it was not done for this but its something to take into consideration.

The app is a little tricky to use. It works best with black text on a white background. The translate feature is fun! I gifted it to my son so he doesnt have to carry as many school books home.

Brought app would not download - meet all requirements wasted 2.99 :(

It is just a statement not so much a criticism...but a bit disappointing to me. It only seems to work on pre-printed typical fonts. Does. It seem to do any OCR on a hand written document. Really just a bummer. Just glad I bought it when it was on a discount.

I tried about 15-20 similar programs and this one really stands out from the crowd. The OCR function to make searchable PDFs is much faster and more accurate than others. Most dont even HAVE this function, and Im comparing to apps that I paid money to obtain. Prizmo is easier and more intuitive, can adjust file export sizes, and image quality is good. Only downsides is that some competitors have WebDAV export and the margin detection upon the initial scan is a bit hit or miss, but the manual adjustment is a bit better on Prizmo due to the zoom feature when making the adjustment. So, save yourself the trouble I went through and buy this one first I you,re looking to make searchable PDFs from scans.

I love this app! Ive deleted all over scanner apps. Amazing OCR, user interface, and editing tools. Also, tech support is not only quick but also very concise. I would highly recommend this app to my friends/family.

The iOS7 version did pretty good at OCRing pages for me. Now that I am on page 980 of my books, the iOS8 version ALWAYS does a bad job with the top of the page, and required more key presses to do it! Please fix this soon!!!

Maybe it will change after an update but right now under ios8, it is almost unusable. 1. It forced you to choose a language to translate when OCR. Had to remove all languages other than English to make it work. 2. Export buttons are hard to see and press. 3. Import from icloud and Dropbox are not working.

Great idea. The OCR needs improvement before this is useable.

I have had nothing but very poor results with the OCR scanning in this app. Even with very clear text pages im still getting many errors. I have tried every variation of app configuration, tried different lighting and I get the same results. The voice reading is excellent if you can get a good OCR scan (but that is not what Im looking for). I am looking for an app that does an excellent job of OCR scanning this doesnt do it.

I love this app and am amazed on how accurate it can detect text, the only thing is if it could detect handwritten notes into text so many more people would download it. I would buy it a second time just for that feature
